The Home

Welcome

Something about an old home makes you want to explore. The stone walls, the touch of vintage elements that so quickly remind you of times when things moved a bit more slowly. You’re invited to step inside, and step away from the fast pace of modern life – to take a deep breath and be reminded of what it is to rest and enjoy some well-deserved time off.

Whether you’re staying a weekend with friends or enjoying a longer stay with family, this is where you come to take time away. Welcome to Sutton on River.

Stay

When a space is this beautiful, it is easy to enjoy. Old beige stone walls dating back to the 1800’s join large bay windows letting in light and warm morning sunshine, giving the rooms a golden glow at any hour of the day. The spacious kitchen is great for family meals or a simple cup of coffee while you prepare for the day.

Rest

Not just a place to sleep, Sutton on River is a place to rest – to recharge and find a sense of calm the world seems to have so easily forgotten. Soft linens. Refined elegance. Every touch of this centuries old home speaks to the history, the past it has endured, and the invitation and welcome it offers each of its guests.

Retreat

Whether the start of the morning, or the last few hours of light, a day is best experienced outside. Cozy corners, fire pits, and open seating areas allow visitors to enjoy the day their way. Have a fire, play croquet, or sit back on couches and enjoy a glass of wine and a book from our little library. The day is yours. Do with it as you wish.

For now, just sit… enjoy… and listen to the story of the home.
